Why use Goat Milk Soap and Handmade products that can be found locally in State College PA!
Recently I engage in a conversation on the Happy Valley Moms Facebook Page that is geared to Mom in the State College Area.

The question was "Soap help! Since we started potty training (and lots of hand washing), my son's hands are so dry! We use j.r. Watkins which I thought was relatively gentle. But apparently not. Any recommendations for gentle hand wash? Preferably something without a lot of potentially harmful ingredients etc. I have been putting some coconut oil on his hands to moisturize but that isn't helping. My hands have been worse since potty training too and I have eczema but I can use heavy duty therapeutic lotions as an adult. I am trying dove sensitive bar for me now but not sure if a bar will be a pain to use with him. Is there a gentle hand soap folks recommend?"

I commented on the blog about my homemade products and others commented about commercially made products and I was shocked about the misconceptions there are about commercially made soaps.

Commercially made  soaps are not really soap at all. They are detergents that usually contain chemical hardeners, foaming agents and artificial fragrances, they remove all the glycerin from the 'soap' to add to other products(lotions) they make. Glycerin is a natural skin emollient (skin softener) that attracts water from the surrounding air. Instead they use things like Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (a cleansing agent), Stearic Acid and petrochemicals.

Our handmade soaps contain all their glycerin, plus use Olive oil, coconut oil, and many other skin loving oils. Homemade soap is pure soap. It gently cleanses away excess oils and bacteria and doesn't take away your skins natural oils. made with simple ingredients that are good for your skin. Give it a try and see the difference for yourself.
